man, oh man! i gotta swear, yesterday was the coolest shit ever!
it was NATIONAL DAY, people!
and i was one of the 27,000 witnessing the brilliance of the celebration!
the atmosphere was, whoaaaa, simply astounding!
and so much sweeter, that dearest was there sharing the moment with me. :)
it feels great, to be a single drop in a sea of crimson!
another perfect day began with a meet-up with dearest.
i was late like everytime; man, i'm always a procrastinator.
decided to meet up at 2 initially, but i was still minutes late even when the timing was changed to 2.30.
that's oh-so-'isham. LOLS
man hella, dear was the sexiest red-and-white yesterday. couldn't afford to take my eyes of her. HEHE.
so yeah, began our lenghty journey to marina in bus 97.
dear managed to revise a lil', and besides that, managed to capture pictures of our excited faces!
alighted at marina square, and wandered around, deciding what to have for lunch.
and yes, yes. we were back to pizza hut! it's been months since we had our last couple's delight.
come on, that's the most affordable meal for a special occasion like this.
meat galore for our regular pizza, along with cream of chicken, the six-piece spicy chicken and a glass of pepsi!
total bill was $35+. quite okay. and the funniest part, we couldn't get our card payment for the bill approved. so the lady had to repeat her dialling procedure time & time again. was pretty frightened, cos didn't have much cash with me. LOLS.
but it was all over within minutes. (:
and hey, hey! i had a pleasant surprise while i was engrossed in my pizza!
i had this guy staring through the wall for quite some time.
so i had glances at him, checking out who he was. and man, i even looked at him right in the eye for a few times. but i still couldn't get my recognising-mode right. LOLS.
and hell, it was my own long-time-never-see bestest buddy!
it was noel!
whoa sey, didn't know he's already into the game. he's attached now.
thought he was one who doesn't love, and don't get loved.
it was fabulous to see him again, he's changed pretty much.
okay, back to the topic. dearest and me had decided earlier to be by the stands at 4.45.
and so, had to rush our meal, which we did. everything was already running according to plan.
so we were dashing against the crowd, finding the exit. but...
the 'best' thing that could happen on a rather special day, occurred.
dearest, she broke her slippers. or rather, the strap got detached! LOLS.
what a time, what a time!
thoughts of reaching the stands on time suddenly diminished.
i was more concerned about dear; i know the embarassment she had to shoulder.
i've gone through the same exact scenario.
and i was as ridiculously desperate as dear to get a new pair of footwear.
chey, sounds like i'm picturing myself as a concerned boyfriend. HAHA.
come on, i was, and i am. (:
haha. joke of the day.
at the midst of our running-around-to-get-a-footwear, there was this bridal promoter who flashed a leaflet to me and asked, 'want to get married?'.
i was like laughing my heart out!
wth, dear and me certainly don't look like 20+, are we?
i mean, hey brother, get your customers right.
don't shoot at anyone. the couple behind us were also teenagers man, i can tell. LOLS.
after the huge hoohaa, dearest got a new pair of adorable pumps from Charles & Keith, again.
i have to say, she appeared more attractive with the new one. HEHE.
and then, off we go again! to the marina multi-purpose hall! (:
right from the ticketing entrance, i have to say the celebration was very well-organised.
the security was tight, and the ushers were jovial, greeting us throughout our whole stroll to the hall.
the walk was rather long, as the green sector were close to the other end of the gallery.
took our funpacks, and a copy of 8 days.
saw a number of familiar faces, namely my-long-lost-primary-schoolmate, nafisah; my NP futsal teammate, guan xiong; and my FOC camp leader, denise.
flights of stairs we had to climb, but i was okay with that.
was more worried about dearest, cos she had her new, tight pumps on, which caused her some pain.
got our seat, which promised a good view. the tag on my seat read: 63-67.
the performances were reasonably good. i couldn't clearly remember the sequence of the concert though. but it was good.
but hey. the red lions and the black knights stole the show man!
i come from the aerospace, and sure i was amazed, fascinated, captivated, mesmerized or whatever vocab that comes to your mind, when i was able to witness the acrobat planes in action! woohoo, fantastic!
man, the vertical loops, the heart shape.. i'm in love with planes! LOLS.
finale was superb, with hady and joi closing the celebration with this year's theme song,
SHINE FOR SINGAPORE! (:
performers invaded the platform, as the luminous, sparkly glitters of fireworks lit marina!
leaving thousands and thousands of people in awe, and leaving us in applause after minutes of display.
no, no. the celebration didn't end there.
post-parade party was up next, and it was CLUBBING time!
dj george, of st. james' power station was in the house!
with the speakers letting out pulses of beats, and the likes of apologise, when i grow up, don't stop the music rocking the night, dear and i decided to lepak the emptying gallery.
by the time my seiko watch showed 9.15, we were alr on our way exiting the hall.
walked down to the stretch of road graced by mr. president earlier, and was just metres away from the performing platform.
then came the hassle, finding our way to the nearest bus stop.
eventually took our bus at the suntec convention hall, and the trip back home seemed longer.
maybe cos we took a different bus service, and maybe cos i was suffering stomach aches that i was too yearning to reach home asap. LOLS.
our wonderful outing ended with our routinal nine-kisses, and a huge wave to MY ONE and ONLY singapore-flag-like sweetheart!
man, i love her so much!
and it's always lovely to bring her to special occasions.
her excitement and enthusiasm would always get me in the right mood.
another perfect outing, another remarkable piece of reminiscence into our memory. (:
next up, our 9th month celebration!
i'm still in a state of cracking-up-my-brain, clueless of where we'd be heading to spend our time.
but don't worry, dear. just know that it'll be a great one, like always. (:
i love you always, darling. (:
